It's construction was ordered by Bayezid 2 in 1490 as a source for income for charities. It is called Koza Khan ( Silk Cocoon Khan) because it was used for cocoon commerce.
Today it isa market for Silk products of Bursa and visited frequently by tourists and people interested in silk. It has two courtyards, which are known as Ic Koza Han ( Inner Silk Cocoon Khan) and Dış Koza Han( Outer Silk Cocoon Khan). Today it serves many people who are looking for a good time under the shadow of plane trees.
